I have several outlets for my artistic expression but none is more physically challenging and personally gratifying than that of painting outdoors. I painted mostly by myself for several decades when I met members of the Oak Group. Their dedication to not just the craft of painting, but the preservation of open spaces opened my eyes to the potential of art as a catalyst of positive change.

For me the mood and emotional content of a painting is of primary importance. If I can convey even a sliver of the indescribable feelings I experience in nature, then I’ve been successful.
